Why Coire na Ciste needs saving:
Without the Coire na Ciste and West Wall Chairlifts, CairnGorm Mountain is no longer complete.
The West Wall Poma (WWP) leaves many – particularly families – unable to access the most extensive intermediate and advanced terrain on CairnGorm.
The WWP alone does not fully serve Coire na Ciste.
With just the WWP, advanced terrain is limited, compromised and foreshortened, and can lead to lengthy queues.
Unacceptable lack of facilities in Coire na Ciste, with lengthy queues for the shuttle bus to Coire Cas.
The WWP is far less snow-sure than the runs it serves.
Why the Coire na Ciste and West Wall Chairlifts must be reinstated:
Easier and faster access to the mountain for all abilities.
Reduce congestion in Coire Cas.
Reduce/remove shuttle bus queues/costs.
Only the Ciste Chairlifts allow for lift-served summer activities.
Only the West Wall Chairlift adequately serves the main Ciste runs and natural snowfields.
Mid-line loading on the Ciste Chairlift to replace the decommissioned Aonach Poma.
